Your gentle ascent to the hiking regions and Alpine areas in the Salzburg region

What could be better than floating over the Alpine pastures almost weightlessly in the Salzburg region? On a summer holiday in particular, a cable car can help convince your children to join a hiking tour. In this way you arrive at the Alpine lodges with ease, and enjoy superb panoramic views!

The area around the Lämmerhof Alpine guest house in the Lammertal is also home to some summer cable cars which are only a few minutes' drive away. This means that hiking during a summer holiday in the Salzburg region is simply great fun!

The Donnerkogelbahn cable car in Annaberg

The Donnerkogelbahn cable car in the Dachstein West skiing and hiking area opened in 2014, and takes you to the Zwieselalm am Gosaukamm hiking area several times a week. Alpine lodges, summit walks and the Donnerkogel Via ferrata are all within easy reach of the mountain station of the modern gondola lift.

Gosaukammbahn at the Gosausee

The Gosausee lake is one of the most popular places to visit in the Salzburg region. In the summer months the Gosaukammbahn cable car is open every day, and like the Donnerkogelbahn cable car, it will also take you to the Zwieselalm hiking area. The cable car and the Gosausee are approximately 40 minutes away from the Lämmerhof.

The Hornbahn and Bruno's mountain world in Russbach

In Russback on the Gschütt pass, the Hornbahn cable car will take you up into Bruno's mountain world (Bergwelt), which is a paradise for children, and where little ones can get to know the Alpine pasture at play. The "Ameisenexpress" stops at the Alpine pasture and also takes tired hikers to the Edtalmhütte lodge. Russbach is approximately 30 minutes away.

The Ikarus cable car in Werfenweng

In Werfenweng, which is a 30 minute drive away, visitors can take the Ikarus cable car, which is open daily, to the Bischlinghöhe, a popular starting place for paragliders in the Salzburg region. Once a week, the Lämmerhof hiking bus also takes you there, where you can walk over the Alpine pastures back to the Lämmerhof in the Lammertal.

Amadé sports world, Dachstein glacier & ice world

In the summer months, numerous lifts in Flachau, Zauchensee, Schladming or Ramsau will also take you to the Hohe Tauern mountain world.

One of the most popular attractions is the Dachstein glacier cable car, which transports its passengers at a height of almost 3,000 metres. In addition to the superb views, you can also expect to find the Skywalk platform, the highest suspension bridge in Austria, the ice caves, and much more.

If you visit the "Eisriesenwelt" in Werfen- the biggest ice caves in the world – you can also shorten your tour significantly with a cable car.

A hiking holiday with the whole family in the Salzburg region

If you want to go hiking in the Salzburg region, it goes without saying that you don't have to head for the cable cars. Attractive walks, Alpine lodges that you can reach within just a few minutes and vantage points with panoramic views are also on offer in the Lammertal in the vicinity of the Lämmerhof Alpine guest house.
