Cross-country skiing in the province of Salzburg: with more than 30 trails over more than 200 kilometres, the Lammertal and Salzachtal Valleys are considered to be two of the most popular destinations for Nordic sports.
The Laemmerhof is located in the middle of the always-snowy Lammertal Valley and is the ideal destination for a cross-country skiing holiday. Directly in front of the hotel is the start of the classic 50km long trail that is partially a skating track as well. Via a connecting trail you can make it all the way to St. Martin in the Tennengebirge Mountain Range - perfect for a break at a quaint inn.
St. Martin and Abtenau are both the only places in the province of Salzburg that have earned the cross-country trail seal of approval (Loipen Gütesiegel). This guarantees excellent cross-country skiing near Salzburg and great conditions, all while being in perfect harmony with nature and the beautiful landscape. Of course the trails are all very well marked.
From mid-December to mid-March there is once or twice a week a cross-country skiing course in Lungoetz and St. Martin. For €6 you can rent equipment for a half-day's adventure.
